It came upon the midnight clear

Greetings, hello, and welcome! I'm glad you're here.

While returning home from attending the media preview for the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show, I began to ponder how I could welcome in more long-form content into my life. Posting to whatever social media app I have open on my phone is quick and relatively easy...but each platform seems to have this defined ceilling. Character limits on how much text you can input, a cap on how many photos you're able to upload, not to mention the cumbersome task should you desire to go back and edit, change, or enhance said post.

Everyday in my role as an analyst I get to write about today's automotive industry, and I'm extremely fortunate to be able to do that. Diving deep into all sorts of fascinating data we harvest from consumers looking to purchase a new vehicle then nerding out and waxing poetic on our findings, sifting through product rumors (i.e. Toyota itching to revive the "MR2" nameplate for a future mid-engined sports car), and reading breaking news stories (like weeks ago when Jaguar Land Rover supposedly fired its chief design officer Gerry McGovern). It's all a hoot, and as I've told people...this industry never sleeps and that keeps things very exciting.

But much of what I write about every day is expectedly hidden behind a confidential paywall for our firm's clients or shared in limited public-facing capacity to social media, which can be draining in itself to access. For years now I'm often asked by friends, family members, even my neighbors..."Where can I read your stuff?" So that's why I've created this blog.

During these recent holidays, leading up to Christmas, I was toying with the idea of creating an email newsletter as many of my very talented and esteemed colleagues have done. Then I remembered just how much I love blogging. The old format of blogging, to me at least, is familiar and just feels more personal, autonomous, and fun.

I want, with help from a few coveted mugs of coffee, to use this as a space to write about everything related to cars. My takes on what's happening in the greater industry I work in...tales about classic or collector cars...maybe a few stories where I shine light on a unique bit of motoring history...op-eds and ramblings.

Anywho, we'll see where this goes!
